Introduction

Oncology is the broad medical field associated with cancer; its treatment, prevention and care are overseen by the oncologists at Hospital Picaso. Cancer may develop in almost any part of the body. While other specialists may focus on a specific region where cancer develops, our oncologists oversee the entire process of a cancer patient’s treatment, including post-cancer care.

Common Conditions

Most cancer patients typically do not realise they have cancer in the early stages. At this stage, most patients feel normal and do not encounter pain or inconvenience to their day-to-day lives. However, over time, cancer cells may metastasise, which is the spread of the cancer cells to different parts of the body. As other tissues and organs start to break down, patients may suffer from a wide array of complications, potentially resulting in loss of life.

Cancer tends to be a life-long battle for many patients. As such, fighting cancer may prove to be a mental burden as well. Treatments
