Hospital Picaso offers a wide range of diagnostics and imaging services. These services help our specialists make accurate diagnoses to come up with the ideal treatment plan for you.
Radiology & Nuclear Medicine
Located on Level 1, the Radiology & Nuclear Medicine department at Hospital Picaso is where you can experience high-quality services from our radiology team. All machines here are equipped with advanced technology to provide you with the best care possible.
Digital X-ray
Our Digital X-ray services provide quick and efficient imaging for a variety of conditions, from bone fractures and lung infections to detecting abnormalities in the urinary tract. Using the latest digital technology, we ensure high-resolution images with minimal radiation exposure, enhancing both patient safety and diagnostic accuracy.
Mammography
Our Mammography services focus on the early detection and diagnosis of breast cancer. We offer Digital Mammography and 3D Mammography (Tomosynthesis), which provide highly detailed images, improving the detection of abnormalities, particularly in dense and younger breast tissue. Besides screenings, our mammography service is typically paired with breast ultrasound for patients requiring further evaluation, pre and post-surgical assessments as well as guiding biopsies.
CT Scans (Computed Tomography)
Our CT Scan services offer high-resolution cross-sectional images that are essential for diagnosing and staging cancers, detecting small lesions, monitoring treatment progress, and evaluating urological conditions such as kidney stones and urinary tract abnormalities.
Fluoroscopy
Fluoroscopy is a dynamic imaging technique that allows real-time (live) visualiseration of internal organs and structures in motion. This modality is especially valuable and precise for guiding procedures such as ERCP, urethral stenting, barium studies, catheter placement, and biopsies. Our advanced fluoroscopy systems ensure accurate and safe procedures by providing clear and detailed images.
Bone Densitometry (DEXA)
Bone Densitometry, or DEXA, is used to assess bone mineral density, which is vital for diagnosing and monitoring osteoporosis. This service is particularly important for older patients who may be at risk for bone loss due to the aging process. DEXA scans provide accurate assessments that help manage bone health and reduce the risk of fractures.
MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) at Hospital Picaso offers advanced imaging for detailed views of soft tissues, organs, and other internal structures, including the prostate, kidneys, bladder, and heart. Our MRI services include 3T MRI technology, which offers superior image clarity, making it especially valuable for detecting and monitoring the most complex cases.
Ultrasound
Ultrasound imaging is a non-invasive, real-time modality used extensively not only in oncology, but also for other various conditions. Ultrasound is particularly essential for assessing soft tissue organs without the risk of radiation exposure.
Nuclear Medicine
In Nuclear Medicine, we use advanced techniques like PET (Positron Emission Tomography) scans to create detailed images of how your body is functioning at a molecular level. These scans are especially powerful for detecting cancers, assessing heart function, and evaluating bone health. With nuclear medicine, we can often detect diseases at an earlier stage than with other imaging techniques, leading to more effective and timely treatment.
