Diagnostics (General Laboratory)
While Radiology & Nuclear Medicine covers all imaging needs of Hospital Picaso, our diagnostic tests and services are delivered through our General Laboratory provider, Premier Integrated Labs.
General Laboratory Services
Haematology
Our haematology services cover a wide range of tests to study and analyse patients’ blood. These tests help us determine if there are any abnormalities or potential diseases affecting the blood.
Clinical Chemistry
Clinical chemistry refers to the analysis of bodily fluids and tissues to study the various compounds within. Among the tests under this category include:
- Liver function tests
- Renal (kidney) function tests
- Tests to analyse minerals, sugar, protein, etc
Immunology / Immunochemistry
These tests look at the immune system, analysing various functions and qualities of the immune system such as the antibodies, antigens and proteins (immunochemistry) or the blood (serology).
Urinalysis & Fluid Analysis
These are tests that look at the physical characteristics and chemical composition within various bodily fluids. Unlike clinical chemistry, which mainly measures the function of the fluid, these tests primarily focus on detecting bacteria, viruses and other microorganisms.
Blood Transfusion Services
Blood transfusion involves the transfer of blood from a donor to a recipient as well as the testing of the blood to ensure safety and compatibility.
Phlebotomy Services
Phlebotomy is the service of taking or drawing blood from a patient for testing, transfusion or donation.
Besides the General Laboratory, Hospital Picaso also has a Histopathology Laboratory which conduct other tests. You can find out more by clicking here.
